WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF IT? We are a small charity and therefore working with us is a very personal way to give. You can rest assured that 100% of your money is used for the benefit of the charity as the British on-site Directors are on the ground ensuring maximum benefit from your cash. Our Directors living in Tanzania do not receive a penny of the money you donate, they are 100% volunteers for Pamoja Leo. You will be supporting some of the most vulnerable children in the world with your sponsorship. We aim to help the community thrive and become more self-supporting. On our trips back to the UK we will prioritise visiting our corporate sponsors and have lots of products, images and stories to share with you so you can really appreciate what your company has helped achieve. Our corporate donors are the lifeblood of our charity. Our organisation relies on monthly donors and one- off donations to sponsor the regular costs and the one-off projects that arise. All girls in Tanzania are considered at high risk of abuse, early marriage or risk of HIV. We work with girls both in and out of school and believe that the best way to impact the next generation is to help the future mothers stand strong. This program is essential to ensure we stop the cycle of teenage pregnancy for vulnerable children, as well as building up the confidence of young girls so they have the skills to help themselves navigate adolescence. The girls get to engage in fun activities which give them a sense of community and achievement. At the same time they will receive essential education and skills to help them succeed in life. Aged 10-21 Sexual health Physical health Leadership skills Access to health resources Managing money Life skills CV workshopsCurrently we can only work with children who live close to us because they cannot afford transport. The children with sickle cell and malnutrition struggle with the walk even now and often miss days because they are too tired. Those are the children that need this service the most. There are some very high risk areas that we want to serve that are just too far to reach without a transport option. In order to get to high risk areas for girls groups to help stop the cycle of poverty we need to beable to transport them to and from the Centre. Access to the Centre particularly for those who are weak or have parents who are very ill is such a big barrier so any way to reduce this will be a massive help.
